The Israeli private trust as an alternative to succession proceedings

Updated: Aug 1, 2023

I'm happy to share with you my new article, which was co-authored with Dr. Alon Kaplan and published today by Trust & Trustees by Oxford Academic.

The article, which is titled "The Israeli private trust as an alternative to succession proceedings", focuses on how to use a trust as an alternative to a will in order to transfer assets to the next generation.

The article's outline is as follows:

  1. The article first introduces the reader to inheritance and trust law in Israel.

  2. The article then explores the endowment and how it should be used in order to regulate the transfer of assets to the next generation. i.e., how a trust should be set up and how assets should be transferred to it.

  3. In conclusion, the article points out the key elements which should be considered when creating a trust to survive death under Israeli law.

I hope you will find it interesting.
